History of THE NOBULL NEWSLETTER
I started NOBULL NEWS in 2009 as a way of preserving my own sanity. At the time, things were beginning to feel upside down and inside out…and sometimes still do. I was trying to understand where our government and our nation was heading and perhaps more difficult, to understand what the people of this nation were thinking. The country seemed increasingly bifurcated and increasingly divisive. I found myself trying to make sense of what was happening to our people both politically and psychologically.
The first NOBULL NEWS went to 5-6 friends. Over the years, as those friends sent my articles to their family and friends. The subscribed email list has grown but I have no idea how many or few actually have them forwarded. At one point, I was getting my own articles circulating back to me as emails from places in Europe I had never visited. I began writing from a primarily conservative perspective but over the years, with feedback from more liberal or progressive readers, the writing has evolved, with some exceptions, to something I would consider more balanced. I write primarily for myself, as a way of thinking things through. The fact that other people have found something worthwhile in it has been an unexpected bonus.
I’ve been told more than once that I should collect the articles into a book. I have no interest in doing so as book publishing is far more work than it is worth to me. Instead I struck on the idea of this web site as a place where these and other of my essays can be stored—-available to anyone who happens to across it.
I write when the spirit moves me. sometimes there could be months between pieces; sometimes there may be two or three in a week Sometimes they are brief, too often they are lengthy. Some may consider them thoughtful and others a rant.
There has never been a charge or an obligation to subscribe. People can simply ask to be added to the mailing list and they can simply ask to be removed from said list.
By clicking the button below you can read about 30 different NoBulls in whatever order you wish. Some are now so old that they are worth reading just to refresh our memory about the events of 15 years ago and how things have “evolved” since.
